Katie Kuhr LeMay, is a proud Havre native who draws upon her strong agricultural roots and diverse professional background to provide exceptional legal counsel. After graduating with honors from Montana State University–Billings, Katie began her professional career as a licensed addiction counselor, also serving with the Montana Department of Corrections. This experience strengthened her commitment to advocacy and justice and ultimately inspired her to pursue a legal career. Katie earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2019, where she was an active member of the law school’s trial team. Following law school, Katie clerked for Judge Yvonne Laird of the 17th Judicial District Court of Montana. Deeply committed to her community, Katie is a graduate of REAL MT (Class V) and currently serves on the Board of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce. Katie’s practice areas include agricultural law, corporate law, estate planning, probate, and real estate transactions. Her well-rounded background, practical experience, and dedication to her clients allow her to deliver thoughtful, strategic legal guidance. Outside of her practice, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and embracing Montana’s adventurous lifestyle.
Wylie Novak, a Cut Bank High School graduate, brings a deep connection to agriculture and a strong academic background to his legal practice. After graduating from Montana State University-Northern in 2021 with Academic All-Conference honors and receiving the Champions of Character award as member of the Lights football program, he continued his journey east along Highway 2 at the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he was an active member of the Federalist Society and obtained his J.D., before being admitted to the Montana Bar in the fall of 2024. Wylie’s roots in agriculture and his personal experience as a ranch hand during his undergraduate studies complement his broad legal expertise in estate planning, probate, real estate law, litigation, and criminal defense. Wylie is married to Kaitlin (Nystrom) Novak, a Havre native, and is the proud father of his son, Monty and twin daughters, Nora and Ollie. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, hauling hay, and applying his diverse skills as a jack of all trades.
Stephen R. Brown, Jr., born and raised on Montana’s Hi-Line, is a seasoned attorney with deep ties to agriculture and the local community. Holding a J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science, Steve has dedicated his legal career to serving the needs of the Hi-Line community. Over the years, he has been instrumental in forming and supporting various nonprofit organizations and has served as a board member and leader in community initiatives. Steve’s legal practice focuses on transactional services in areas such as business, agriculture, and estate planning. He is a former President of the Board of Directors of the Federal Defenders of Montana, Inc., and maintains active memberships in the State Bar of Montana and the American Bar Association. Beyond law, he enjoys golf, bowling, and hunting and values time with his family.
